郊外のシネマコンプレックスは馬鹿馬鹿しいほど大きくて、アメリカンだなあ、と何度でも思う。
大きくて変に無神経で簡単に人をつかまえるものが、私にとってのアメリカンだ。実在のUSAとはほとんど関係ない。不健康なほど清潔な、剥がしたくなるほどにこやかな、痛々しいほど均質な。そういうもの。
